Sketch-22 Back For a Fifth Season

Back (Press Release Index)

Sketch-22, the irreverent live sketch comedy show, returns for a fifth season of all new material, this summer at The Guild. Featuring the creative wits of Rob MacDonald, Graham Putnam, Jason Rogerson, Andrew Sprague, Dennis Trainor, and newcomer Lennie MacPherson, the show explores the Island way of life through original and satirical live sketches and videos that blend together seamlessly to create an evening of uproarious laughter and unforgettable characters.

"Compared to other seasons, I think this is our most character driven," says producer Jason Rogerson. But fans of the group's larger production numbers won't be disappointed. "We've got actors tearing around the Island in a classic Firebird Trans Am for one of our videos. There's going to be a lot of great moments and big laughs." From Russia's funniest stand-up comic to an office worker with an unusual fetish, season five is poised to be Sketch-22's biggest season yet.

Returning to the production are stage manager, Ghislaine O'Hanley, and crew master, Ryan Townshend. Jenna MacMillan joins the team as production assistant and property master. Will McFadden and Joey Weale lend their talents behind the camera for the show's video segments. Puppets created by Scott Carriere. Selected video effects by Fox Henderson. Graphic design is by Laura O'Brien, with web design by Lorrie Jollimore of Shizamo Software.

Sketch-22, Season 5 opens July 3 and runs Thursday and Friday nights through September 5 at 8 p.m. at the The Guild, 111 Queen Street, Charlottetown. Tickets are $20, available at the door, during Guild box office hours, or reserve at 620-3333. Doors open at 7 p.m. Licensed, this show contains explicit material.
